On 1 December 2015 the States approved the Minimum Wage Regulations which will increase the amounts that an employer may deduct from minimum wage pay for staff accommodation and meals. The Minister has also made an Order that will increase the minimum wage by 19 pence to £6.97 from 1 April 2016. All of the new rates can be found on the Gov.je website.

On 19 January 2016, the States will debate a separate Proposition from Deputy Mezec which asks the States to agree that the minimum wage should instead increase to £7.20 from 1 April 2016.

We will revise the minimum wage guide when we have certainty about the rate that will apply from 1 April 2016.
