The Jersey Hospitality Association
The Jersey Hospitality Association (JHA) is here to support, and promote all elements of the Hospitality and Tourism sector in Jersey
Owning or running a hotel, guest house, restaurant, café, pub, bar, fast food outlet or a tourist attraction is one of the toughest businesses to be in, but it’s also one of the most exciting and fulfilling in the world.
In fact, Members tell us running a business in this sector is sometimes like being on the stage – juggling multiple roles, making everything run smoothly and keeping everyone happy. Founded in 1957, the JHA has been serving the hospitality industry in Jersey for over 60 years. With over 230 members, we present a united face for a wide number of Island businesses.
Our vision is to help grow the Channel Islands into a leading hospitality destination, turning the spotlight on what we do and promoting a better understanding of our sector. We want to highlight our contribution to the economy and encourage young talent to develop a worthwhile career in the industry.
We aim to retain, and grow our membership so it reflects of all parts of the sector. Our objective is to build confidence and credibility within the hospitality industry, with government, and among diners, guests and visitors.
By keeping an eye on developments that will impact the industry, you can get on with your business, looking after customers and guests, knowing we will represent your interests.
Together we can present a clear voice from the hospitality and tourism industry, speaking up to the Government on issues that matter to us all. This will allow us, where appropriate, to develop more ambitious strategies – conducting research, and lobbying on important issues to make sure your voice is heard.
The aim of the JHA is to unite our industry in a single powerful voice so that hospitality and tourism can be recognised as one of the key value drivers in the Channel Island economy. People are at the heart of hospitality. Our industry is the success it is because of the spirit, generosity, and sense of community of the people who work in all elements of hospitality and tourism in Jersey.
Our future can be very positive, but success depends on how we engage and inspire our most powerful asset – the people we work with.
Tourism is an important part of Jersey’s ‘DNA’ and generates £280m of spend on island – but a vibrant visitor economy delivers benefits that go
